Transition

Question

I would like to create a common rule (automation)  for all my projects which can move the IssueType in StatusCategory=3 to Status in “in progress” (StatusCategory=2) When a comment is added to my closed Ticket (IssueType) only if there exists a transition in my workflow that I will name “re-open”

I don’t know if it’s possible to create this kind of rule using the name of transition and not the status.

The rule could be the following for example: “If a comment is added to my ticket in status “done”, check if there exists a transition named “re-open”, and if it’s right, move the ticket in status “done”  to status “in progress”.

There are many tickets with multiple status names in the done state. I try to leave the name of the status as it is.It would be easier to use the transition because the name of transition is always the same.That's why I try to do this.

I'm afraid not.  The Automation blocks are coded to ask the rule writer for start and end status, they don't ask about transitions behind the change.

But you can get your rule defined by using the status options, I don't see a need to try to configure it by transitions really.
