Epic statuses missing

Question

Hello, it is impossible for me to evolve an epic status because the field is empty. I don't have any other issues on the epics whether it's the side panel or anything else. Is it possible to configure these statuses or do they have to be added directly to the database? Thanks in advance

I believe I have the same issue.

I have a vanilla instance of Jira version 9.12.12 as I want to test Project Importing.

I have an Epic Status field which has no Options assigned against it.

I have Created a separate Workflow only for the Epic in my test project.  The Epic Status field is mapped to the screen shared by both Epic and Story issue types.

When I use where is my field I get the following information:

The field 'Epic Status' is not configured in scope of the project 'test' and issue type 'Story'
To solve this issue, go to ' Epic Status' configuration page and add it to the scope

The Epic Status field is in the Global Context

and:

The field 'Epic Status' does not have value for issue TEST-3 and will not be displayed on the view issue page. Set value for that field so that it shows up.

Because the Epic Status is locked, I am not able to add the options manually.

How do I add the "To Do", "In Progress" and "Done" options to this field?

Epic Status is a little different to issue status.

To complicate things, Epics are really issues with some more functions added to them, and because they are issues, they have a workflow and an issue status.

The issue status for an Epic does not have a strong link to the Epic status,

Epic status is a simple article that says what it is:

* to-do - may or may not have issues, but none of them has had any work started on them
* In-progress - at least one issue that someone has started work on.   Arguable - some places will say that any Epic with an open issue is in-progress, even if no work has started on any issues.  That's a reporting decision, not a rule
* Done - all issues in the epic have been done.

The standard recommendation is that "if your Epics do not have a workflow that has a simple to-do -> in-progress -> done workflow, then try to set something up so that you can map all of the Epic status from it"

Your Aucune option seems to be from a report or search that is asking you to choose an Epic status, which could be any of the three!

Could you give us more detail on where you are seeing this select-list?  There's no context in your screenshot!
