Add resources to project

Dear Community,

Is it possible to use JIRA to manage resources with JIRA for a project? Like a fleet of bus (with all kind of properties for the bus, like number of seats), drivers, and assign them to issues, view assignment conflicts etc?

I have been using JIRA for agile software development, but a friend of mine asked me is I could help him with his company by moving their process to a JIRA solution.

Sure yes, create a new issue type 'Bus', new workflow scheme, new screen scheme, new field scheme, etc...

Just keep in mind - you cannot add other entity rather than issue. So probably you will face the need to have a property of dynamic data (e.g. you can user components, fix version or plugin to pull data from other source) or Issue Link property or even field. There are lots of plugins for that, some of them are free.
