Atlassian Community Round up: November 2021

Jimmy Seddon

Hello Everyone!

2021 is coming to a close, but there is still tons of great content being posted to the Atlassian Community daily! Without any further delay, let's take a look at what we have:

• First up, is one of many articles that came out at the beginning of the month. If you are running either the Server or Data Center versions of MANY Atlassian products, you should either check out this security advisory for Jira or find the post relevant to your affected product.
Security Advisory for Jira Server and Data Center, November 2021

• Slightly related to this, a series of articles have been posted for a number of the Atlassian products to give you easy access to version, LTS, supported platforms, etc. information all in a single location. I'd recommend bookmarking this one for Jira as well as the others that have been posted for that moment when you need this information again but can't remember exactly where to go.

• Trello Enthusiast @Brittany Joiner is back with a great tutorial on Trello Customization with PixieBrix. This was incredible to read (and watch) I highly recommend it for all you Trello fans out there.

• This is one of the coolest articles I found. Being a Jira Admin and always wanting to be able to keep my company instance clean, having a way to find unused Custom Fields is extremely valuable. You should check out this great article by @Amir Katz (Outseer)!
How to Find Unused Custom Fields in Jira Cloud Using REST API in Python

•  @Sandesh Shetty has a wonderful breakdown explaining why & how to use Epics. This is great for people new to Jira that haven't really started using Epics yet.
  Importance of Epics

• Are you trying to learn more about how Opsgenie works with Jira Service Management? I know I am, and @Andreas Springer _Actonic_ has multiple great articles written to help you get started. I recommend checking them all out!

• I love articles that explain new and interesting ways to use automation.  @Ignacio Pulgar has put together a fantastic walkthrough for Building a solution to flag & comment from the issue detail view.

• Finally, I have helped the marketing team at my previous company start working in an Agile way, but not nearly to the extent that @Teodora V _Warsaw Dynamics_ has. If you want to learn more about how non-technical teams can leverage Agile practices, you should check it out!
