Some of our users are updating issues by mistake, how to lock a particular issue in jira. not all the issues for this project, specially for a particular issue.
@Aasha are you using jira software or Jira service desk/Management and what version ?

You can insert a status property so that the issue will not be editable or add any comment. Read more here. I pasted the doc for the Jira 7.4 version (but it's valid for all newer versions). You may find the jira.permission.* more useful, since you will scope it to just adding comments. Your choice really
And just to explain myself. If that issue type is using a specific workflow, you will be able to do that.
I'm not aware about the latest Jira versions (8+), but in 7+ there's no such option.
