Migration from one database to another. Issues not appearing in jira, but exist in the database

I recently made a backup of a database and pointed jira to connect to that db. I re-indexed jira but all of the projects and issues do not appear in JIRA, yet they remain in the database.

I resolved the issue by restoring a backup found in the /export folder. Thank goodness for automated backups
