Old workspace has disappeared with all my repos

Before Atlassian account was introduced I used to login to my workspace https://bitbucket.org/<old_workspace_name> using my email address and password. I hadn't used bitbucket for about 2 years. However, I have been using the same email address to create an Atlassian account to use Jira and Confluence.

Last week I tried to login to bitbucket with the same email address that I have always used and that is also used for my Atlassian account and it no longer let me access my old workspace. Instead, when I login I only have available a new workspace with a name https://bitbucket.org/<new_workspace_name> that is empty. If I then manually type the old workspace name https://bitbucket.org/<old_workspace_name>, I get an access error page.

In summary, I have lost access to all my repos.

I can see in our system a new Bitbucket account that was created a few days ago with the email of your community account.

I also found another Bitbucket account, which I believe is your old one. The email of that account has a '+1' in the email username, so it looks to be an alias of your own email.

Can you try logging in to Bitbucket using that email (so, username+1@domain.com)?

If you'd like, I can assist with switching the email of the old account:

I can delete the new empty Bitbucket account with your email that was created a few days ago. Please do not attempt to delete it yourself, as a user-initiated deletion will also delete the Atlassian account and thus the Jira/Confluence account. I can delete the Bitbucket account only from our side, without deleting the Atlassian account.
After I do this, you can log in to Bitbucket with username+1@domain.com, add your email (username@domain.com) as a Bitbucket alias in https://bitbucket.org/account/settings/email/ and verify it
Then, I can make username@domain.com the primary email of your account

Thanks a lot @Theodora Boudale , That definitely made it.

However, just in case it helps, I have good reasons to believe that I was previously accessing this workspace with my email without the +1. The main reason is that I have checked previous emails from the pipelines I used to use and all where directed to the address without +1. It may be that I made changes myself that I have forgotten and got me into that situation. But I wonder if something on Atlassian end could have wrongly linked my old workspace to the +1 address instead of the one without it.

Anyways, problem solved. So thanks a lot.

Hi @Theodora Boudale , we are having the same exact problem. We used to login to our account using our email address as the username for several years. But when we tried to login today, we were prompted to create a 'username', which we did. Then post login, we found an empty workspace. All our repositories are gone. We are hoping you will help us access the repositories that have disappeared.
