Question

we have a requirement  to automate some Epics

The changes we’d like to propose are:

* Epic transitions automatically to “In progress” if any User Story under the Epic transitions to “In progress”
* Field “Epic Status” (different field than “Status”) to be moved automatically to “Done” when the Epic “Status” transitions to “Done” or “Close”
* Epic “Status” pushed back to “Open” if all User Stories under the Epic transition back to “Open”
* Epic “Status” transition to “On Hold” if all User Stories under the Epic transition to “On Hold”

how do we implement this

You will have to write scripts to do that. If you have programming/ scripting experience, you can do that.

You will have to use a marketplace application like Script Runner to do this.
