createddate show yyyy/MMM/dd h:mm a on board but custom date field show dd/MMM/yy h:mm a

In the Selected issue details Panel of the board, system datetime field show as yyyy/MMM/dd h:mm a , but custom datetime field show as dd/MMM/yy h:mm a. Why?

I found a very old issue in the Atlassian backlog for this. They have marked it as "Won't Do".
