When I made some Portal fields as mandatory, the asterik (*) is not appearing. Please help.

Did you make those fields mandatory on the Request form?
In your project settings: Request types > select a request type > Request form:
That should do the trick. If it doesn't, could you share more information on the steps you took to make those fields mandatory?
