Base URL | SMTP | Mails delivered with Localhost

Question

Hi,

We are using JIRA Software Server 8.12.2 version. We have installed certificate for SSL support with the domain name.

We have setup the SMTP and the connection is succeeded and I'm able to receive email during the test email.

When I invite users to an user email address, the sign up button is embedded with localhost and when the user clicks, it is unable to resolve to the DNS.

The base URL was : http://localhose:8080/ , changing that to the DNS we are using the certificate does not help, it fails to succeed in the test connection for SMTP. What is the way out?

@Patrick Schneider : The JIRA Software Server 8.12.2 is installed in a Windows Server 2019. It was originally running as a self hosted one. I scheduled it to run as a Windows Service and auto run during the start-up.

Now, when the email alerts are getting triggered, the link getting embedded is pointing to localhost. See below, when I click the Sign Up button, it is triggering http://localhost:8080/, whereas, it should have been https://mydomain/

Hi Prasenna,

are you using an Offloader in Front (apache/nginx/etc)? If yes, you changed proxyName/proxyPort in Tomcat server.xml - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0812/integrating-jira-with-apache-using-ssl-1026529320.html
