User is unable to Publish a page (option is grayed out)

Question

User is added to the site and have permissions to add pages.

Under a chained list of pages, users select to create a child page.

Then selects a custom template, adds basic information then clicks create. While in the new draft, user is able to edit and add content, but the button to publish is disabled (grayed out).

We've already tried giving user all possible permissions (including admin), no success.

Issue also happens with blank pages.

Other similar users are able to perform the same task just fine.

@lucas.lopretecury thank you so much for such a detailed response. I tested this in Firefox and a prompt appears above publish button stating page title must be entered, but prompt doesn't appear for Chrome.

Hopefully this helps others with the same issue.

Hi @Abu Belal .

I've noticed just now with your comment that I've never came back to publish my own answer to the question I raised back in August.

So the reason why it wasn't working it's because after the user created the draft based on a template, and the "Page Title", a mandatory field, was never populated.

I wish the user interface could give a better hint of what was the reason. If not a complex validation upon trying to click Publish, maybe just a simple red "*" would've probably helped.

Anyways, I hope this is the same issue you're facing and this helps you on your problem.
