Prevent older Comments from being edited?

James Malgieri

We are using Jira Server 8.5.5

We'd like to open up editing Comments to a user's own comments but would like to restrict it to only recent comments. In other words, a user may edit their own comments but only the comments that were written in the last month, or last 2 weeks.

Is there a way to restrict modifying comments base on the date of the comment?

Thanks,

Jim

Not out of the box. you may be able to do it with scripting or look for a plugin.

OK - Thanks Joe.

I did look for a plugin but didn't really see any that had that kind of functionality so I was hoping that maybe some already explored scripting.

@James Malgieri I suggest you post another question asking about scripting limiting comment updates based on date.

James Malgieri

OK. I'll do that. Thanks for the suggestion.
