Macros not showing up?

Question

I am trying to add macros by using the curly braces { and also by going to the "insert" option. I do not see any macros. There is a "view more" which brings me to a bunch of plugins, but I am trying to use anchors and cannot figure out how to get it to work. I am using the new edition of confluence because I see the "publish" button. I do not believe I am using the legacy version. Why can't I add any macros? I am using the browser to edit my confluence articles.

Hello Evelyn,

You will always see the Publish button, regardless if you are using the new or legacy editor. In the new editor, it's located in the top-right, and in the legacy editor, it'll be bottom right.

However, as @Sachin mentioned, the Anchor Macro was discontinued in the new editor. If you have a look at the Confluence Cloud Editor Roadmap, you can now use links to headings in order to accomplish this.

The feature request that Sachin shared with you has since been closed, so I wanted to direct your attention to this one instead:

* CONFCLOUD-69198 Allow Anchors to be specified anywhere in a page

This requirement is currently in progress. It would allow you to specify anchors anywhere in a page, instead of just relying on headings to create anchors.

As per Insert links and anchors the Anchor macro was removed. The way links are added in the new editor has been simplified to provide you with an easier way to get this done.

And, According to https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-66773 , Atlassian intend to re-add it at some point in the future.

Also, use / instead of { to bring up the macros. { if for server only.
