Can you use text effects when sending email from Automation for Jira?

Hello,

I tried to bold my text when sending email when I use Automation for Jira.

Tried adding * on the start and end of my text. When I get the email it doesn't bold the text.

Is it possible like it is when you're using the normal automation?

I'm guessing this is then through the action "Send Email"?

What do you have set as the email type (HTML?) If it is plain text then it makes sense nothing happens (as it is plain text).

If you have it set to HTML you can use html tags.

For example you can surround the text you want in bold with Your text here

or more specific in your screenshot summary: {{issue.summary}}

Other text formatting options are available such as italics and many others.
