How to navigate new pull request sidebar?

Question

I like the new Bitbucket new pull request experience.  However, I am not finding a good way to navigate the sidebar when the file list goes off the bottom or when there are many comments in the activity list.  I've tried resizing the side bar, hoping a scroll bar would appear but it doesn't.  Sometimes I can click in the bar and then page up/down to jump navigate, then cursor up and down, but that doesn't consistently work.  What am I missing?  I'm using Chrome in Windows 7.

Thank you for that response, Theodora.  
I guess my point is, as GUI interfaces go, the navigation of the sidebar seems to be an afterthought and is inconsistent with other page navigation at best. The page up/down approach works but is not intuitive and sometimes doesn't work, requiring one to click on the very last thing visible before the page down takes effect.  I use a trackball, so I don't have a mouse wheel to spin.
I think a far more intuitive UI would be to have the sidebar have its own scroll bar which appears when there are more items than are visible.  I hope something like that can be implemented as it will make the sidebar navigation consistent with other windows.

It's good to hear that you like the new pull request experience!

Regarding navigating in the sidebar:

1. One option is using the mousewheel or the touchpad if you use a laptop. The cursor should be in the sidebar area for this to work and then you can scroll up and down with the mousewheel or touchpad. You didn't mention anything about this, so I was wondering if this works for you or if you have issues? Or are you perhaps looking to navigate with the keyboard instead of the mouse?

2. Page Up and Down is another option. I notice that this works when I expand or collapse a panel of the sidebar first (rather than clicking at a random area in the sidebar). You mentioned that this doesn't consistently work for you: there is a possibility that it didn't work because a panel of the sidebar wasn't collapsed or expanded first. Does it work for you after one of the panels is either expanded or collapsed?
