Connection search in confluence (cloud) with Google Site search (Cloud)

Alena Shyshkina_idqdbv

Dear all,

I'm desperately trying to find an add-on or tool which can help me to connect search in confluence Wiki Page (Cloud) with search in Google Site.

We created an HR landing page with some internal information in Google Site. However, we want to keep also our Confluence HR Wiki page and want to connect the context. It means if people are looking something in Confluence page via Search box are also able to find links in HR Landing page in Gsite.

I will appreciate any ideas, feedback how we can make it happens.

Best,

Alena

Hello there! Great to have you here @Alena Shyshkina

Currently, using Lucene to index external sites is available only for Confluence in our Server platform (Self-hosted Confluence).

The functionalities from Confluence Cloud and Confluence Server are different. You can check more differences here:

• [Atlassian Cloud Support] Compare Atlassian cloud vs server
• [Confluence Support] Functional differences in Confluence Cloud

I was also unable to find a third-party solution for this in our Marketplace.

If you are interested in looking at our Self-hosted solution to this, you can check these documents:

• [Confluence Server] Setting Up Confluence to Index External Sites

If the search page of your Google Site has its own URL, you could try to include inside a Confluence page via iFrame. Just keep in mind that this will not “merge” the search results from Confluence and Google Site. Here is our document on iFrame:

• [Confluence Cloud] Insert the iFrame macro

I hope this helps! Looking forward to your reply.
