How many items can be added to a drop down list in the New Software version?

Question

I have created drop down lists in Issues types in the new version of Jira, the lists have 58 items in them and I am now no longer able to add new items as there is a cap/limit of 55 items per drop down list.

Is this a change? Is it possible to remove this cap as we are using it to identify components within our software?

I filed a ticket a few days back. The suggestion was to separate options to multiple dropdowns.

Neither - not sure why they'd add this limit. I have logged a support ticket so will update this page when I have a response.
