Can I Track How Long and Issue is IN a Component?

Hi, I am trying to create a "sub-status" within my current workflow for only a few issues of my projects. I figured the best way to organize this is to create a component. I am wonder, though, is there a way I can track how long one of my issues was part of that component? Example, if I added issue A to component B on day 1 and removed it from component B on day 3, I'd like a way to show that issue was linked to component B for 3 days.

I understand you would like to display the time that an issue was added to a specific Component in your Jira.

It is possible to visualize the dates that the component was added and remove in the history of the issue, however, Jira does not have a field that would display the exact time it remains in that component. 

To have a field that would display the exact time that the issue was added to a component, you would need to use a third-party app, as Scriptrunner.

Scriptrunner provides you with the functionality to create your own scripted fields that you can use to achieve what you need if you have experience with Groovy Scripting, you can refer to the documentation below to know how you can create calculated fields using Scriptrunner:
