How can I delete a workflow step with no linked status?

I can't even delete a workflow step from an inactive workflow. This is nuts... and confusing, too.

Hi Elias,

You have to make that wokflow inactive by disassociating from project then you can delete the workflow steps

Can you elaborate on this, Is that step part of active or inactive workflow?

Do you know if this has to be removed completely from JIRA or just from workflow?
