Is there a ticket for bringing back the publish - comment field in the new editor? This was very useful. The field is still there on the page history.
Hello @Wendy Emerman ! You are correct when you say that this is not available via the user interface in the new editor.
Recently we had some movement towards the reinstatement of the feature.
Here is the report:

However, there is another way around the absence of this feature. You should be able to re-enable the Old editor, which does have this feature. Here is one of our blogposts about that:
