how to calculate distance between 2 locations

Hi,

I'm searching a way to calculate the distance between :

- city of the current location which is automatically fetched from LDAP

and

- the city of the destination which needs to be manually entered when creating a ticket on the Jira service desk customer portal.

Is there someone who has experience with this feature please.?

Any idea is welcome!

I don't think our TechTime Google Maps Embed plugin will help in this case, but thank you for mentioning @Ste Wright!

This is more of a task for ScriptRunner + Google Maps API like Distance Matrix API or Directions API

This isn't something I've come across before.

All I can suggest is you'd likely need the co-ordinates to calculate the distance - and then need to consider using a Maps API (such as Google Maps) to verify the distance and populate it into Jira.

This will likely utilise the REST API and/or a scripting tool.

Other alternatives is to embed Google Maps into Confluence using tools such as Embed Google Maps or TechTime Google Maps.
