JIRA Toolkit Plugin: Message Custom Fields do not appear

Hey all,

using jira server v 8.3.2 and have just added the toolkit plugin as I need to add some static text disclaimers to my project when people are creating tasks.

Now, I've added some of these message custom fields (for edit) and they're applied to the correct screens (i.e. create), they're listed as visible, and have a global setting to them. They don't appear. I thought maybe it has something to do with my html, but an identical entry with no html also does not appear. Other custom fields appear immediately with no issues.

Any ideas of whats going on?

Steps to fix:

 

1. Go to admin section then "custom fields" to find your newly created field

2. Click the setting icon next to the field and select "configure"

3. In the section "Default Configuration Scheme for x" click "Edit Default Value"

4. Add details there and save.


Also
Message Custom Field (For View) - static text will appear when a user is viewing the jira.
Message Custom Field (For edit) - static text will appear when a user is editing the jira

Adding view for an edit screen will achieve nothing, same for an edit in the view screen.
