Jira Workflow triggers for GitLab

Hi Jira Community, 

We would like to update the status of an Jira issue with gitlab automatically.( like happens in Jira and bitbucket).

i.e. : 

GitLab                                                                                               Jira Issue

1.Branch Created                                                                Transition - To Do-> In Progress          

2. Commited code                                                          Transition - In Progress-> In Review

3.  Merged the request                                                  Transition - In Review-> Done

 

I know we can change the Jira issue status through smart commits but we are looking into workflow level triggers .But in jira side triggers are not supported for Gitlab.Can someone help how we can do this using Scriptrunner or any Marketplace plugins or Custom plugin etc.We are using jira server .Eagerly waiting for your help.

 

Along with Above requirement,

   We are looking for If we create branch in Jira then Jira ticket will automatically go to In Progress status from To Do .So we want to Change the status of GitLab ticket as well.

Is there any workaround to do this.

Searching the marketplace I can find some add-ons to integrate Jira with Gitlab:

However, going through the results, I think the only one (or one of the few) that provides 2 way integration seems to be:  Sync Jira with GitLab
