How do I set an external link to auto open in a new tab?

Natalie Sollock

When I embed links it opens in the current tab. I am building an onboarding resource page, it would be nice if people could open multiple resources without having to go back and forth or using the right-click. We are all on MacBook, some of our windows folks get frustrated with "right-clicking" on the touchpad.

Hi

You have some options:

1- Go to Confluence Administration and add the following script to  Custom HTML

<script>
jQuery(document).ready(function() {
    jQuery(".wiki-content a").attr("target", "_blank");
});
</script>

2 - You could enable confluence HTML Macro or install Bob Swift Atlassian Add-ons - HTML

and add your link at this way:
