How to stop the file downloading while viewing the files from File list ?

Hi ,

We are maintaining the files in file list and these files are downloading into computer every time I want to look or edit the file.

Is there a setting that just opens the file and not download it? Even if I view the file, it downloads it.  That can be an issue for file management on the laptop.

I have installed Atlassian Companion to edit the file directly but i could see the file gets downloaded every time.

Please help me to change the settings.

Thank you for clarifying the issue and confirming it's for Confluence Cloud and not Server.

I've found we have a few bugs reported for this, and I believe that they are all related.

* CONFCLOUD-67605 Clicking over *Edit file* on an attachment thumbnail just downloads the file
* CONFCLOUD-67302 Tapping View/Edit on Attachments downloads the file
* CONFCLOUD-67617 Unexpected download starts along with file preview when clicked a link of attachment
* CONFCLOUD-65583 Office File issue with New Confluence Editor

Hi, we have the same issue with the Cloud version.. it started a few weeks ago. when viewing or editing an attachment, in addition to the file updated/downloaded by Atlassian Companion (n a specific Atlassian folder) the browser downloads the same file (to the browser's default download folder)- of course this file is not being used as it is always renamed by the Windows OS (with a running number added to the file name)
