A brand new installation on Win 2016 server connected to a blank MS_SQL database. Ran through the wizard install & all went well until the database configuration step. It crashed shortly after starting and now just redirects to http://localhost:8080/secure/errors.jsp and provides 503 errors. Checked that JRE is installed & path. I'm ata bit of a loss as to how to proceed. The new data does not seem to have been created in the DB. DB user account looks fine. Running the setup via RDP on the server with admin permissions.

After much searching I found the information I needed in :
C:\Program Files\Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA\log\atlassian-jira.log
In here I found the error:
CREATE TABLE permission denied in database 'jira_db'
I went back to our DBA & found that the user had not been added to the correct role
Once that was fixed we are back in business.
@Scott Lamshed You will need to provide the exact error from the log file, that way we could help, there could be several reasons.

No problems Moses, which log file should I post, there a few files in the log directory.
I will have to do that tomorrow morning Dragon. Have knocked off for the day.
@Scott Lamshed the JIRA installation log file/ Database log files will be helpful too
{JIRA home}/logs is the location of log files. Please post it if you still have issues
