groovy and locked fields

Question

I want to add a scripted post function on the create transition when using Service desk.

I want automatically add Request Participants based on a condition, i.e, the belong to a certain group.

However the "Request Participants" custom field is locked. Is it possible to get at locked custom fields with groovy?

Have you tried? "Locked" just means that JIRA or the SD plugin manages the configuration of it, ie the associations between projects and issues, screens and whatnot.

I don't know the type that field expects, so can't really give you any sample code. It might be difficult, but it will certainly be possible one way or another.
