What is the difference between Epic Vs Version in Jira?

An Epic is an issue type and is often used as a project level grouping of other issues. Any issue in your database typically has access to link to any Epic.
A Version is typically used for a release of issues on a project.
But those are flexible and really depends on how your organization/team wants to implement them.
