hi there, i hope you are well
i have a webserver which i run joomla and wordpress websites. Its a php server. how do i install jira on the server?
@prenesh naidoo JIRA Server is a Java based application, which runs on its bundled Tomcat Server. It can also be configured to run behind a suitable and supported Web Proxy Server like nginx, Apache etc.
It is recommended to install JIRA Software Server on its supported platforms, as listed by Atlassian for every JIRA version in its documentation. For Example, the supported platforms page for JIRA v8.0.x is as below: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/supported-platforms-938846830.html
Hi @prenesh naidoo ,
welcome to the community.
As @Taranjeet Singh wrote, it is a java based application.
You will need to have root access to your server, to install it.
Then you can just use the installer, which you can get from the download page.
@prenesh naidoo Could you please accept my answer if it was helpful, so that others in the community can benefit from this?
