I work at a cabinet manufacturer in the U.S. located in southeast Missouri. I have been working in the Software Development Triage Team for the last year or so handling software support requests from our plant, testing software, documenting what I find and anything the various dev teams or the plant departments require.
The previous seven years I was on the testing team here writing scripts to automate test cases for software regression testing in various scripting languages. Our culture here is laid back and we follow an agile software development approach.
I really enjoy my current role as I am engaged with all the software teams as well the users in the plant. I can provide initial problem responses, write scripts to test software issues and learn details about our plant processes to share with our developers. I look forward to reading the posts here and sharing a few of my own!
Cheers!

It is wonderful to hear that you are involved in developing software for use in plants. My humble suggestion is to consider leveraging AI's assistance.
Yes! We are leveraging AI in various aspects of db design, application development as well as QA. It's a very exciting time to be in this field.
