Importing MS project to JIRA using WBS Gantt Chart for JIRA

Hi all,

I have the following questions:

1) When we import the tasks from MS project to JIRA, Does that mean each component of the task will be created as a separate issue in JIRA, for instance, if I have a task ("Create site" and duration of it is 4 days and owner of it is XYZ and % completion is 50%)

So are we going to have an issue created for task name and another one created for the duration and another one created for owner..etc? Is there a feature in WBS Gantt chart to combine all components in one issue  that includes the components of that task which is create site as mentioned  in my example instead?

2) When we import /export from Ms Project to JIRA, any change that may occur on Ms project tasks, is it going to affect the tasks already moved to JIRA simultaneously, so we have sync between both tools in same time?

Hi Ruba,

No, it would not be created as a separate issue in JIRA.
The fields of each MS Project are imported as Jira's task with the contents of the following table. The planned dates and % Complete destination of Jira field are imported according to on the contents set in the WBS Gantt chart. Please refer to Importing from Microsoft Project for more details.
2) It'd not sync modification between both tools at the same time.
If you interested in that function, please raise a request ticket in WBS Gantt-chart Public tracker.

@Jenny Can we also import tickets from JIRA into MS project? So can this plugin act as two ways?
