we have a simple 25 user server instance in AWS and we need assistance to complete the migration to the cloud.   Are there preferred vendors that can do this for us ?

Hi Dominick, there are third party consultants that are available for that service.  Originally, we thought we would need to go down that road as well.  But, after trying the migration ourselves and with some help from Atlassian's support team, we ended up doing it ourselves and things the transition was pretty smooth. The benefit of the cloud is if it doesn't work the first time, you can clean up your server data and migrate it all over again.

Here's some articles to go over regarding the migration process:

Using Jira Cloud Migration Assistant

Jira Pre-Migration Checklist

Hope that helps.

Hello @Dominick Sciangula

Atlassian provides a searchable Partner directory. One of the search options is Services, and Cloud Migrations is an option in that category.

Disclosure: I work for Praecipio, which is an Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner that comes up in the search results.

Yes, most organizations have preferred vendors for cloud migration, but the “right” one depends on your goals, budget, and existing infrastructure. Here’s a quick breakdown:

1. Major Cloud Providers (IaaS/PaaS)

  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are the top choices.

    • AWS is often favored for its maturity and breadth of services.

    • Azure integrates well with existing Microsoft environments (e.g., Active Directory, Office 365).

    • GCP is popular for analytics and machine learning workloads.

2. Migration Specialists / Consulting Partners

Most cloud vendors have certified partners to help with migrations:

  • AWS Partners: e.g., Slalom, Rackspace, Cloudreach

  • Azure Partners: e.g., Accenture, Infosys, Wipro

  • GCP Partners: e.g., SADA, Deloitte, Cognizant

  • ByteTechnosys: A rising full-stack cloud consulting firm known for flexible, cost-effective migrations—especially for SMBs and hybrid environments.

These partners can help with:

  • Strategy and assessment

  • Cost modeling

  • Application refactoring

  • Security and compliance

3. Third-Party Tools and Platforms

To speed up or simplify migration, companies also use tools like:

  • CloudEndure (AWS), Azure Migrate, Velostrata (GCP)

  • CloudHealth, Turbonomic, HashiCorp Terraform

4. Factors That Influence Vendor Choice

  • Existing tech stack

  • Compliance requirements

  • In-house expertise

  • Cost

  • Support and SLAs

There’s no universal “best” vendor—only the best fit for your needs. Most successful migrations happen when companies align their choice of vendor with clear business and technical goals. For organizations looking for hands-on support without enterprise-sized overhead, partners like ByteTechnosys are becoming go-to options.
