Sub-Task changes as comment on Parent Ticket

Patrick Schneider May 12, 2024

Hello,

is there an way to reflect changes made in sub-tasks, as comment in the parent ticket.
For example:
ISSUE-1
  ISSUE-2 (sub-task)

After changing the *Due Date* on ISSUE-2 a comment on ISSUE-1 appears:

John Doe has changed ISSUE-2:

- Due Date changed to 2024-05-01

We run automation and Scriptrunner on the Instance and currently have a mix of a Events Script and Workflow trigger, but it works not always as it should be. Is there a native way, maybe even a plugin?

Hi @Patrick Schneider

I do not think there is any native feature for this. If there is only some event you are interested in I would suggest to create an automation for JIRA for each of them.

If you have a lot of events, updates, transitions, worklog etc. I would create a Script listener on All Issue Event and I would managed managed each event from there.

Hi @Florian Bonniec ,

Solved it with Automation. Thanks for the Hint.

Best

Patrick
