How to copy issue to other project?

Sasha December 26, 2023

I want to duplicate an issue in project1 to project2 based on a condition when an issue is raised in project1.
However, it says "Cannot create issue in project/issue type".
Is this an issue with the template being set to a team project?

Hi @Sasha ,

Welcome to the Community!

I hope you are trying to clone the issue into project2 through Jira automation. If yes then to resolve this error please select a particular issue type in the action rather than "Same issue type".

Also ensure that you have the necessary permissions to create issue in another project and the issue type which you are selecting is present in the issue type scheme.

Regards,
Mayuresh

Hi @Sasha

I'm Luka from codefortynine ðŸ‘‹

It's impossible to clone issues from team-managed projects to company-managed projects without third-party apps.

Our app Deep Clone for Jira can clone from team-managed to company-managed, and vice versa.

If you want to trigger Deep Clone via a Jira automation, you can also do that from your team-managed project by using our REST API.

You can also try the app for free for 30 days.
