DC EOL impact on defense industries ?

Daniel Shukrun September 13, 2025

Hello everyone, I am a consultant to security clients who cannot move to the cloud for information security reasons. In light of Atlassian's announcement of EOL for DC products, clients ask me "Does this mean we should look for/implement another product?" What are the alternatives for those who need an On-prem solution?

Hi @Daniel Shukrun ,

I'd recommend checking out these: Data Center EOL General Questions
Specifically, questions like What should I do if there’s not currently a cloud option that works for my organization?

...

Atlassian is committed to developing solutions that meet the needs of all customers. We encourage you to engage with your Account Executive directly so that we can ensure our product roadmap meets your needs. We understand that some organizations face unique challenges or requirements that may delay their move to the cloud. For these situations, we’re committed to offering extended maintenance for certain Data Center customers by exception after March 28, 2029, ensuring you have the flexibility and support you need for a successful transformation. Please reach out to Atlassian to discuss migration options.

I believe there will be a lot of Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions in the upcoming weeks and months, so apart from what's stated above, I'd recommend checking out those.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hi @Daniel Shukrun ,

Thank you for your question.

The alternative for that kind of organizations is the "isolated cloud", that is the most similar to on-prem, but stored in cloud environment.

It was announced this year and it is planned to be available during 2026, for more details: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.atlassian.com/blog/announcements/expanding-pathways-to-cloud/amp

It will be still Cloud, and it will be in Atlassian infrastucture, with no control from client company side.
