The ACP-620 Journey: What Worked, What Surprised Me, and How I Cleared It πŸš€ ⭐

If you've read my previous articles on ACP-120 and ACP-520, you'll already know one thing.
If you haven't checked check these :

How I Achieved My ACP-120 Certification (With a Little Help from AI)

Swimming Through the Atlassian Ocean 🌊 | My ACP-520 Journey - Funny Mode

Yes... ChatGPT and I were study partners again. πŸ˜„

No, it didn't write the exam for me (before anyone asks πŸ˜‚).

It just made my preparation smarter.

My approach was actually very simple.

Instead of jumping straight into mock tests, I started with the official Atlassian documentation

Preparation Documentation : Syllabus and documentation link

One topic.

One concept.

One document at a time.

After finishing a topic, I'd ask ChatGPT to generate exam-level MCQs based only on that section.

And not the usual easy ones.

I specifically asked it to generate questions similar to the ACP examβ€”scenario-based, tricky, and sometimes frustrating enough to make me reopen the documentation. πŸ˜‚

If I could answer those questions confidently, I'd move to the next topic.

If not...

Back to the docs.

Repeat.

Repeat.

Repeat.

That's literally how I prepared.

Of course, if you enjoy mock tests, platforms like Udemy and other practice exams are always helpful.

But for me, understanding the concepts first and testing myself later worked much better than simply memorizing answers.

What Surprised Me About ACP-620 🀯

I'll be honest...

Before taking the exam, I thought,

"It's Jira Projects... how hard can it be?"

The exam replied,

"Sit down, we need to talk." πŸ˜‚

Most people underestimate ACP-620 because they're already familiar with Jira Projects.

That's exactly where the exam becomes tricky.

Unlike many certification exams with four options and one correct answer, ACP-620 throws a different challenge at you.

Many questions have five or six answer choices, and a lot of them require selecting multiple correct answers.

Especially topics like:

  • Boards
  • Reports
  • Permissions
  • Project configurations

They all look simple...

Until you see the answer choices. πŸ˜…

Most options feel correct.

The real challenge is identifying which ones are actually correct.

That's why I'd say this exam is less about memorization and more about understanding how Jira behaves in real-world scenarios.

If you truly understand the concepts, you'll enjoy the exam.

If you only memorize questions...

The exam will definitely surprise you. πŸ˜„

At this point, you might be wondering...

"You explained the preparation so confidently... but did you actually clear the exam or not?" πŸ˜…

Yes! Thankfully, I did. πŸŽ‰

I'm happy to share that I've successfully cleared ACP-620: Managing Jira Projects for Cloud.

That makes it 3 professional certifications completed this year:

  • βœ… ACP-120
  • βœ… ACP-520
  • βœ… ACP-620

And now, only ACP-420 and ACP-220 stand between me and the Atlassian Certified badge.

Hopefully, I'll be back soon with another article saying...

"Well... there goes another certification!" πŸ˜„πŸš€

Congratulations @Hari Krishna

Hope you get the Atlassian Certified Expert designation successfully!

Atlassian Certified Professional exams aren't easy, especially ACP-120 and ACP-420. I couldn't agree more with your point: we need to practice and truly understand these concepts and product features. Some questions combine multiple concepts, which can get quite confusing without a solid understanding.
