Extra status under you Board Settings

Problem Statement :

A customer reported seeing extra statuses under the board columns, even though those statuses were not part of the current workflow.






Reason:

We encountered numerous additional statuses because an additional Simplified Workflow had been incorporated into the existing workflow scheme. This change inadvertently created unassigned statuses on the board.

How to remove the Extra Status from Board:

The statues can be removed by removing the Simplified Workflow from the Scheme. Once you remove a status, it will be deleted if it is part of the unmapped statuses. If the status is in a column, a warning triangle will appear. You can then move the status to the unmapped section, and it will be removed from there.

This can also happen if the query for the board includes items from other projects with other workflows.
That has tripped up a project admin or two at our company.
