Changes coming to Timeline views in Jira’s mobile app

Hi Atlassian Community,

An upcoming change is coming to the Jira mobile app. As we invest in new views designed around how teams actually use Jira on the go, we’ve made the decision to remove the current timeline view in Jira’s mobile app.

What this means for you:

  • Timelines are still fully accessible via web at any time – no changes there.

  • On mobile, you’ll continue to be able to view your Epics from the List view.

Note: This change will gradually rollout over the next 6 months.

Interested in the future of Jira’s mobile app?

Talk to us! We're actively building what comes next for mobile and your input will directly shape what we prioritize. Two questions we'd love your take on:

  • What types of views or visualizations would be most helpful for your team?

  • Are there specific scenarios or workflows you’d like better support for on mobile?

We’re looking forward to hearing your ideas and shaping the Jira mobile app together.

The only thing I use the mobile app for is responding to JSM Alerts, which has been a horrid experience since the OpsGenie app was deprecated.

For example, I get a push notification, I click on it, it takes me to the mobile app, and I have to log in via Entra and then I'm taken to the default screen. The Push Notification is gone so I have to muck around for a few minutes to get to where I was.  It's often faster to boot up my laptop and use the web browser.

Back with OpsGenie app, when an alert comes in at 3AM, and my watch silently buzzes me awake, I could hide my phone screen under the covers and quickly take a look at the alert to triage the alert without waking up my wife.  Not any more! Now I have to get out of bed, got to my desk, boot a super bright screen, then duck the flying pillows from a tired wife. Please for the love of my marriage, do better on that feature! :)

Hi @Jolene Pern.

We would encourage more users to install the Jira mobile app if we could direct them to the JSM customer portal to complete Forms instead of only showing the agent / issue view. Many JSM customers have built extensive portals / help centers for users, but the mobile app has not factored in that UI.
