We’re exploring a flexible Jira Service Management Summary page and need your feedback to shape it. This post outlines what’s coming, what we want to learn, and how you can get involved.

What is the new Jira Service Management Summary page?

A modern, configurable project-level summary that has

  • OOTB template: Provides OOTB template to get you started quickly

  • In-context action: Click on any chart to see the underlying work items and edit them right from Summary page

  • Customization: Resize, reorder, add/remove rows, and switch templates as you wish

  • Configurable widgets and filters: Add from 26+ prebuilt chart templates or create charts from scratch with filters and different visualization types.

  • AI-powered chart insight: Get AI generated insights to spot patterns and trends in your chart data

  • Permissions: Project admins can decide who can customize the default summary page, create and view other tabs

What we want your feedback on

  • Metrics and widgets: Which metrics are essential for your Summary?

  • Filters & Group By: Which dashboard filters and group by matter the most to you?

I can think of a few managers who would be quite jazzed to see this roll out.

🙏 Looking forward to these learnings hopefully ending up in other spots in Cloud, like in non-JSM space summaries!

Exciting, new summary page looks great. Wondering how issue security levels affect visibility of metrics and insights — assume they’re respected, but could impact accuracy for some users. Like the idea of tabs for role-based views. Intrigued to see data refresh rates, and potential export/share options. Wondering if widgets or insights can trigger automations (e.g., flagging trends that breach thresholds, sentiments,..🤔). Nice work!

@Stephen Neil I like your point on permissions impacting metrics shown.
We find the current reporting options in Jira unreliable at best because of just that.

It WOULD be an interesting feature if admins could ask Jira to show high-level metrics across Jira projects spaces, and ignore issue security. On a gadget-by-gadget/report-by-report basis, I mean. Such an override would need to be carefully implemented.
