This feature is part of the Jira Product Discovery Premium plan.

👉 Start your trial here 👈

Note: if you're on the continuous release track you can use this now, if you're on the bundled track it will be available on the 14th of July.

Other features of the plan are described here and here's an implementation guide.

Introducing the tree view

The tree view helps you visualise your idea hierarchies with visually in Jira Product Discovery. Screenshot 2026-06-17 at 13.29.17.png

Good news! The tree view is now generally available as part of the Premium plan. Thank you 🙏 to the ~200 customers who helped us test and validate it in the early access program.

How to use the tree view

Pre-requisites:

Example use cases:

  • Work with opportunity/solution trees
  • Show how product work ladders up to strategic objectives
  • Get a better view of how things connect at different levels to prioritize
  • Get more visual ways to discuss outcome-based roadmaps with stakeholders

Current features:

  • Configure n-levels of the hierarchy (max 10)
  • You can have multiple types at the same level
  • Define filters for all ideas on the view, and for each level of the hierarchy
  • Define fields for each level of the hierarchy
  • Sort based on a field (it applies to all levels)
  • You can re-order ideas manually (unless you have a "sort" configured)
  • If an idea at a level is connected to multiple ideas of the prior level:
    • By default it will appear multiple times in the view
    • You can toggle on a mode where it only shows once (with links to multiple parents). But when you do that you can't sort or reorder cards manually.

Thank you. This will greatly improve clarity across the organisation, showing how everything connects. (connecting the dots). It would also be valuable to connect delivery tickets to it, so stakeholders can drill down layer by layer and jump directly to tickets if they want to see implementation details.

We also  can't wait for support for one more level of hierarchy in the timeline view. Do you have an idea when this will be available for early access?

@Jens Raspe It's coming soon, in the next few weeks.

Hi, we are currently on a Premium trial, would we be able to use it? I don't see the option available yet on my instance: anaconda.atlassian.net
