šŸ™‹ JPD Premium implementation guide

If you are already using JPD Premium and would like more details on how to set it up we wrote an implementation guide to help you get started:

šŸ‘‰ Read the JPD Premium implementation guide šŸ‘ˆ

Why the JPD Premium plan?

While the JPD Standard edition is best suited for individual product teams, the JPD Premium edition is best suited for product organizations, allowing them to scale the adoption of JPD to multiple product teams so they can work in lockstep.

It’s structured around the following pillars:

1ļøāƒ£ Visibility for product leaders: give product leaders easy access to their product organization roadmaps so they can view product-level initiatives centrally, and ensure each product team is focused on high-impact ideas that ladder up to their product strategy.

2ļøāƒ£ Standardize with ease: enable program/product operations managers to standardize and enforce the right PM practice across the entire PM organization, so that all roadmaps are easy to parse by senior leaders without repetitive manual set-up.

3ļøāƒ£Unified admin experience: provide Atlassian admins with more capabilities to administer and manage JPD at scale for their product orgs, in a unified experience across Premium plans for all Atlassian products.

What features are included in JPD Premium?

To help product organizations scale their product management practice across teams, we are introducing a set of features, described below.

Roadmaps

Roadmaps give product leadership better visibility into initiatives across multiple product teams by aggregating roadmaps across different projects into a single view.

Learn more about Roadmaps here.

Hierarchies

Hierarchies allow you to map relationships between opportunities, solutions, and initiatives to prioritize more effectively, align teams, and ensure you’re solving the right problems at every level.

Learn more about hierarchies here

View Restrictions

View restrictions help product teams give stakeholders access to only what they need to see, when they need to see it with granular restrictions for who can see and edit individual views.

Learn more about view restrictions here

Atlassian Intelligence

You can now write your ideas faster with Atlassian Intelligence in your idea descriptions. Product managers can ideas are concise and easy to understand, adjust the tone to be more professional or empathetic, and catch spelling or grammar mistakes in seconds.

Learn more about writing assistance here.

More scale and controls for administrators

JPD admins can now control the updates they get in Jira Product Discovery using release tracks, test their JPD setup in sandboxes, and automate more mundane tasks thanks to the increased automation limits that are now at 1000 runs per user per month.

You can also roll out JPD to many teams with the "copy project" feature, that lets you copy a project' configuration when creating a new one.

How can I get access to Premium? I completed an application for Premium last week, but have not received any feedback. Perhaps I missed it but hopefully I will hear back from someone soon.

Genial! / Maybe not. I can't point it at my existing account? It has to be a new area?

That's probably because you clicked on "create a new site"

Before that step there should be one that lets you select an existing one insteadScreenshot 2025-05-09 at 10.05.57.png

@Mark Colonnese ah ok I see, maybe that wouldn't work if you already have JPD on your site, on another plan.

In that case you can go to admin.atlassian.com > Billing > JPD > Manage
