Questions Answers
What’s your advice for building a strong business case for Cloud Enterprise?

One of the best ways to build a strong business case is to anchor it in both quantitative and qualitative value.

  • Quantitative: You can leverage the findings from our TEI, such as how customers are achieving 230% ROI by moving to Cloud Enterprise. For example, our customer Rivian achieved a 36% annual reduction in tooling costs, saving $2.5M per year. Other customers report that they gained admin efficiency and reduced risk.

  • Qualitative: You can also highlight how Cloud Enterprise enables outcomes that align directly with your organization’s priorities — like United Airlines gaining portfolio-level visibility across teams to improve decision-making.

How does Cloud Enterprise help if we have multiple business units or regional teams with different needs?

We hear this question a lot from customers who are growing quickly, managing multiple regions, or navigating big organizational changes like mergers and acquisitions.

Cloud Enterprise supports multi-site deployments so each business unit or region can operate autonomously while still benefiting from centralized security, billing, and governance. This balance of autonomy and control reduces the complexity of managing disconnected workspaces, while allowing for tailored configurations when needed.

We’re currently on Premium. What are the biggest differences we’d notice if we moved to Cloud Enterprise?

The biggest differences are:

  • Centralized administration and security: Enterprise-wide controls across multiple instances, Atlassian Guard Standard for enhanced security, and more granular admin policies.

  • Greater scale and flexibility: Higher storage and user limits, plus multiple sandboxes for safe testing in complex environments.

  • Advanced analytics and support: Access to Atlassian Analytics and the Data Lake for cross-product reporting, along with enterprise-grade support and faster SLAs.

If I’m making the case to leadership, what’s the one capability of Cloud Enterprise you think resonates most at the executive level?

Our customers are most drawn to Atlassian Analytics, because it delivers:

  • Unified insights: Bring data together across Atlassian products (and beyond) for a complete, organization-wide view.

  • Custom dashboards: Build interactive, executive-ready dashboards to track adoption, engagement, and business-critical KPIs in real time.

  • AI-powered decision support: Use natural language prompts to surface trends, spot risks, and answer ad hoc questions without SQL.

  • Proven results: Customers like Dropbox see real value with Atlassian Analytics:

“Atlassian Analytics in Confluence Cloud Enterprise has been so valuable because it helps us see how engaged our Confluence users are, which spaces have the most traffic and the greatest amount of engagement, which teams have templates set up, and more.”

— Damien Davis, Lead Atlassian Administrator, Dropbox

How do you guarantee data governance and ensure that neither Atlassian, other companies (e.g., AWS), nor foreign authorities (particularly the USA) can access our data?

Atlassian protects your data and supports governance for Cloud Enterprise customers by providing enterprise-grade security controls, centralized administration, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards. We encrypt your data in transit and at rest, let you set permissions to manage access across your organization with SAML SSO, MFA, and device management, and track all activity with advanced audit logs. Our controls, together with certifications like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and our GDPR commitments, ensure that only you and your authorized users can access your data while you retain full visibility across your portfolio.
