Understanding permissions - Confluence cloud

Question

I want to understand how permissions are setup in confluence cloud. I know that it set on following levels

Site

Space

Page

How restrictions work for nested page. What happens in scenarios like users have access to child page but not the parent page.

What are other factors such as anonyous users. 
It will be very helpful if I get any documentation for permissions setup.

Hi Roli,

The general rule of Confluence is parent permissions take precedence.

So if someone has access to a page but not the parent page or the space they can't see the page

Same goes if they have access to the space and to a sub-page but not the middle page. To have access to the sub page they need access to all 3 pages
