Disable child creation on Troubleshooting index page

Users are creating articles as children of the Troubleshooting Articles page (i.e. the index page of the Troubleshooting Articles Blueprint) and I would like to prevent them from using the Create button on this page, while maintaining the visibility of the page.

Hi Yaacov,

You would need to remove "Add Pages" permission from the users for the Space Permissions itself. This will prevent them from adding any pages at all in the entire space.

It's not possible to restrict on a page-by-page basis. We have a feature request for that:

At this time, even if you were to restrict editing to the parent page, users are still able to create child pages. See this bug:

I hope this is clear but do let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

Shannon

Shannon, hi

See my comment to the issue from Feb, 2018 - the feeling of frustration with Atalssian's responsiveness to user requests just continue.

Hi Yaacov,

Our Confluence Product Manager and has replied directly to you on CONFSERVER-30791 regarding those requests.

In short, it is due to the way edit permissions are not inherited. This behavior would first need to be changed. You can follow the request here:

Let us know if you have any questions.
