Change parent page status?

How can I change a parent page (currently with dropdown) to a standalone page at same level as other parent/main pages.

I've tried moving the page, but the dropdown (parent page status) still remains.

@Jenny Gallagher do you mean the carrot still appears, like in the image below, even though there are no child pages? If so, you should check your unpublished drafts. There may be one sitting under the page that is being dragged around with it.
