Hi everyone,
I’m excited to announce that Nested Tables are now being rolled out in Confluence Cloud! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed their thoughts to this feature request and shared their use cases.
You can access Nested Tables by inserting a table through the toolbar or the slash command while inside another table, or by simply dragging a table into another.
Please note that when you paste a table into another table, it will not create a nested table in the selected cell. We've taken on early feedback, so it will maintain the familiar paste experience you’ve come to expect with Confluence Cloud tables.
We have adopted a streamlined approach for Nested Tables, concentrating on essential user needs to ensure a consistent experience. Nested Tables do not support connected data or charts, and they are only functional within the primary table; they do not extend into the nested tables. Additionally, Nested Tables occupy the full width of the cell, but otherwise, they provide a similar experience to the full cloud editor tables.
Nested tables have started to roll out to some customers already, however we expect full availability by mid June 2025.
Once again, thanks to everyone for their feedback and patience on this. If you have any feedback, let us know in the comments. We're continuing to make the Cloud editor more flexible so stay tuned for future nesting enhancements.
