πŸš€ Confluence Slides is here β€” turn your pages into presentations in seconds

πŸ‘‹ Hi community! I’m Laura from the Confluence product team, and I'm excited to share that Confluence slides powered by Rovo is now generally available.

How many hours have you wasted creating a deck from scratch – from copy and pasting content in from various docs, to figuring out the right slide order, to formatting each text box, to matching font colors, and the list goes on and on. What if Rovo could help you go from doc to deck in seconds?

With Confluence slides, now it can. Simply describe what presentation you want, and Rovo pulls context from across Atlassian and connected third-party apps like Slack and Google Drive to create impactful, visual presentations grounded in your team’s work.

Even better, you’re able to collaborate and present your slides directly in Confluence, without having to switch between different apps.

Let’s see it in action (and make sure to try it today βž‘️  slides.rovo.com)!

πŸ‘‰ How do I create slides with Rovo in Confluence?

1. Select Create in the top navigation, then Slides β€” or go directly to slides.rovo.com.  Img 1 (1).png

2. Write a prompt describing what you want to create. Add any links or reference materials to better give Rovo context on information to pull into the slides.

3. Watch Rovo do its magic as Rovo generates a full draft of your presentation in your private preview area, complete with formatting and charts.

4. Review the draft, then make quick edits yourself or use Rovo Chat to refine the slides, such as changing the tone, condensing copy, or adding a new slide.

5. Select Add to Confluence to save your deck to a space and share with your team.

6. When ready, click Present to enter a fullscreen presentation mode to present directly from within Confluence.

Your slide deck is a Confluence content item with the same permissions and sharing options as any page or live doc. See more details here.

πŸ‘‰ How can I quickly turn an existing Confluence page or live doc into slides?

  1. Open any Confluence page or live doc you want to transform.

  2. Select Remix with Rovo from the floating toolbar on the bottom right of the page or live doc.

  1. Choose Slides as your output format.

  2. Follow steps 3-6 from above.

Campaign recap

βœ… "Turn this campaign results page into a recap deck for stakeholders <link to campaign results page>. Lead with the numbers, show what worked and what didn't, and close with recommendations for next time. Create charts to help visualize the metrics on this Google spreadsheet <link to Google sheet>."

Pitch deck

βœ… "Build a customer pitch deck for X customer based on these notes <link to customer account notes>. Use this customer deck as a template, and match its slide layout, typography, and spacing <link to template>."

Slides work quite nicely! We've used it a couple of times so far, and it even does a decent job of converting .pptx files to the Slides format.

There are still some features that are missing/could be improved (e.g., an easier way to add a blank slide πŸ˜…), but all in all, a very welcome feature to Confluence πŸ˜„

Okay, I just tried this, and I πŸ’•it so far. I just recreated a presentation with only the main bullet points for the information compared to what I gave Gemini a week ago for generating slides, and Rovo blew it out of the water. And the icing on the cake, you can ask to modify slides that it created. I fought with Gemini for over 30 min last week trying to get it to modify a slide it created which it never did.

This is the most direct content to slide AI generation I've seen yet. I'll keep playing with this, and super excited to have this as a feature.

@Tomislav Tobijas - Was this the only way you found to add a blank slide?new slide.png

This looks really useful, especially for pages that already contain the full story but need to be presented to a different audience.

One thing I’m curious about: if the original Confluence page changes later, is there any way to refresh the presentation from the updated content, or is the deck essentially a snapshot at the moment it’s created?

That could make this even more useful for recurring reviews and project updates.

@Clint Young yeah, pretty much that's it.. I believe it would be great just to have small "+" sign somewhere in the slide deck to add a new slide without actually having to prompt Rovo to do that.

Great feature and probably one of the strongest AI use cases Atlassian has released so far.

Unfortunately, we are still unable to adopt Rovo at our company because our Cybersecurity and Compliance teams are assessing the use of Llama models within Rovo's multi-LLM architecture. Until EU AI Act compliance and model governance questions are fully addressed, Rovo remains blocked internally. Hopefully we'll be able to unlock features like Confluence Slides in the near future. πŸš€

Excellent, finally something to compete with PowerPoint - and move users anyway from Office :-)

@Laura Eng - How can I create a global template for Slides? I looked at /wiki/admin/templates-and-blueprints and tried to add a nw global template... but did not find how to create/change the Slides. I would like to change (globally) the colours, fonts, etc to align with our brand. Is this possible?
