BitBucket data residency

Hi,
Due to company guidelines, we can't start using BitBucket until data residency is in Europe.
I wanted to kindly ask when this decision will be possible.

Unfortunately, Bitbucket Cloud does not yet support data residency (region pinning). Currently all Bitbucket Cloud data is hosted in the US (AWS us-east-1).

Atlassian originally planned to add data residency for Bitbucket Cloud but officially postponed it until 2026 (announced in August 2024). As of now, there's no confirmed release date.

This is tracked as a public feature request:

• BCLOUD-20038 - "Data residency for Bitbucket Cloud"

What you can do:
• Vote and watch BCLOUD-20038 on jira.atlassian.com (http://jira.atlassian.com/) to get notified of updates
• Check the Atlassian Cloud Roadmap periodically for timeline updates
• If data residency is a hard compliance requirement, Bitbucket Data Center (self-hosted) is currently the only option for EU hosting

You could use Bitbucket Datacenter in the meantime. Bitbucket DC is NOT affected by the DC end-of-life for other Atlassian products. Bitbucket DC is guaranteed to continue with a dual DC/Cloud license.
