Hi community,

Posting a message to Microsoft Teams channel works fine, the requirements are: Webhook URL, Message Title, and Message. But when another automation trigger kicks in - I want it to post Reply to the previous thread, rather than create another thread. How to achieve that? Thanks.

Hi @Fiodar Krents -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

I do not believe the built-in automation action to send a MS Teams Message captures the message ID to send back to the rule.

Perhaps try calling the REST API endpoint directly to send the message using the Send Web Request action, and then check the response to find the message ID.  I have not tried this with Teams and rules so please experiment to learn if it works.

Kind regards,
Bill

Also it seems that there's no easy way to pick up messageId from the response from MS Teams.
